In person or at a distance
An in-person clinic visit gives you a place to describe the problem and ask questions face to face.
Remote and in-person visits must meet the same requirements for proper care, says the national group of state medical boards, the Federation of State Medical Boards. Its guidance was checked September 17, 2026.
When a remote assessment cannot be completed, its guidance calls for arrangements for any needed tests or a physical visit for an exam.
Check who can care for you
Federal guidance checked September 26, 2026 requires the health professional’s licence or other legal permission to cover the state where you are during the remote visit.
Ask which state board gives that permission. Check the person’s licence in that board’s records.
If a medicine made to order is proposed, ask which pharmacy would make it. Then check that pharmacy’s state licence record.
Treat a KPV offer as a question
As of September 28, 2026, offering KPV does not change the fact that it lacks approval from FDA, the US Food and Drug Administration.
Ask what permits the proposed ingredient, what human research supports it and what other care addresses your condition.
FDA’s position checked September 26, 2026 requires products promoted for human treatment to follow drug laws even when their labels say “research use only”. That label does not give permission to sell an unapproved drug for treatment.
